MADACTO Company is a supplier of vegetation–based raw materials. Crocin is One of our most important product, a carotenoid found in various flowers of the Crocus genus, but the only ingredient found in Saffron (Crocus Sativus L.) which gives it its typical red color and has specific chemical properties which allows it to be used in the pharmaceutical industry e.g. in the treatment of various neurological disorders including Alzheimer’s and psychiatric disorders such as depression and insomnia, diseases of the cardiovascular system (hypertension, cholesterol, etc.), diseases of the respiratory system such as asthma, but this is only a part of the extensive use, the rest is all reported in detail in the documentation.
PRODUCT
Crocin supplied by the MADACTO company is extracted from high quality raw materials and the production cycle is carried out following international standards and through cutting-edge studies and technologies. This type of production provides the possibility of having a final product with different purity (5%-40%-60%) for different uses and evaluation is done through HPLC laboratory tests.

Modern supply chains are more complicated than ever. Raw materials come from all over the world. Hundreds or even thousands of suppliers contribute components to many consumer products. Additionally, consumers care now more than ever about ethical sourcing and product provenance. In today’s economy, supply chain transparency is no longer nice to have. It’s a prerequisite for all consumer-facing companies.
Crocin is the most significant component of Saffron (Crocus Sativus L.), which consists of polyandecarboxylic acid, crocetin mono- and diglucosyl esters. Crocin is a unique antioxidant because it is a water-soluble carotenoid. Crocin acts as an antioxidant by quenching free radicals, protecting cells and tissues against oxidation. Crocin is also the main factor which contributes to protecting against oxidative damage to brain vessels, kidney tissues, heart and retina.
Recently published data on the chemical composition and pharmacological potential of crocin has determined that it uses as anti-inflammatory and cancer cell growth inhibitor properties anti-hypertensive, anti-platelet aggregation, nephron-protective effects, anti-depressant, and anti-atherosclerotic, to name but a few. It should also be noted that for patients afflicted with neurodegenerative disorders such as epilepsy, Parkinson’s, and Alzheimer’s, in order to prevent and even treat the mentioned disorders, crocin is highly recommended…
- It could be used as a carrier in polymer-carbohydrate conjugates for drug delivery and a stain for staining of various abnormal cells and identifying cell phenotype. It has also been shown that treatment with purified crocetinic acid inhibited pancreatic cancer stem cells and consequently.
- An anti-wrinkle formulation with crocin has become an active component. The efficacy of this component, in a cream format with 0.08% crocin administrated for 28 days, was demonstrated to reduce wrinkles in 20. healthy females (>45 years old) suffering crows’ feet fine lines.
- Crocin with Ginkgo biloba leaf and grape seed extracts showed blood fat-reducing effects. According to clinical data, crocin reduces hunger sensation before meals, and reduces food intake and body mass.
- Crocin could also be used as a phototherapy, treatment of skin disorders, acne, scares, as well as bone augmentation, repair and regeneration. Crocin has been filed for promoting spermatogenesis. It can be made into tablets, capsules or different oral dosage forms.
